APAC CCS Forum 2019: Developing a low-carbon economy

31st May 2019

Location(s): Brisbane

CCS Forum

APAC CCS Forum 2019 & Members Meeting

This annual event organised by the Global CCS Institute, the world’s leading authority on carbon capture and storage (CCS), provides a unique opportunity to discuss the latest developments and outlook for CCS across the Asia Pacific region, and the essential role of CCS in developing of a low-carbon economy. Delegates will enjoy a day of interactive discussions with leading industry representatives and experts from across the Asia Pacific region.

The momentum and vital need for CCS technologies has never been greater. According to the findings of the IPCC 1.5°C report, the time for inaction is long past. Experts clearly state that reducing emissions with one or two ‘chosen’ technologies is no longer enough.

The truth is, for a low-carbon future we will need all available emissions reduction technologies – including CCS – to be deployed at scale. The successful, wide-scale deployment of CCS is not only vital to meet global emissions reduction targets, CCS is a conduit to new industry sectors, the revitalisation of communities and can stimulate economic growth.

We hope you can join us for this collaborative and action-oriented day to discuss the progress and advancement of CCS and its role in the development of a low-carbon economy.

Topics covered during the Forum will include:

  • Global and regional CCS updates
  • Financing a low-carbon economy
  • The role of CO2-EOR in Australia
  • Opportunities in low-carbon production of iron and steel, cement and Hydrogen
  • Decarbonisation opportunities in the LNG sector
